Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)

New and soft therapy for skin cell REGENERATION!

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is successfully used to treat peri-oral wrinkles, facial and acne scarring, and rejuvenation of sun damaged skin on the chest as well as the face.

The principle behind CIT is simple - stimulating the body's own natural production of collagen.  The procedure takes from ten minutes to one hour, depending on the area to be treated.

Treatment is accomplished by first anesthetizing the area to be treated with a topical anesthetic cream, then a sterile roller comprised of a series of fine needles which are used to puncture the skin and cause microscopic wounds and inflammation, which results in the start of the wound healing cascade. Your body will begin producing its own collagen, and taking three to nine months to fully appear.

The mechanism for action of the COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY is based on scientific facts that skin cells communicate by electrical signals. When the skin is micro-needled cells react to this intrusion by changing their internal electrical potential. This electrical charge in return stimulates skin cells to release chemical compositions, protein and growth factors. Proliferated skin cells, such as fibroblasts, migrate to the point of injury and transform into collagen fibers.  A crucial part of the treatment is the preparation of the skin prior to the procedure with topical vitamins A and C.  This significantly reduces down time and patient discomfort.  It is very important that the patients continue using the topical vitamins for at least 6 months post procedure to ensure the production of healthy collagen and elastin.  There is data to support that the results are vastly superior and that patients experience less discomfort when following these protocols.

You will see continual improvement as your progress through the series of treatments. Results last as long as the bodies own collagen, 5-10 years or more.
